Barilli dress is inspired by the artwork of Milena Pavlovic Barilli - a Serbian painter, poet, fashion illustrator for Vogue and the most notable female artist of Serbian modernism.
The dress embodies numerous symbols. The light blue color of the dress brings the atmosphere from her dream - like paintings while delicate embroidery resembles the portrait from one of her drawings. The red lipstick contrasting gentle blue accentuates female sensuality. Papier-mâché hand that covers the breast and the bird landed on the shoulder strap signify protection that brings freedom. The dress conceived from the conceptual collage drawings.
